Before You Spend Your Hard Earned Money On MLM

We spend alot of time making money nowadays and MLM is apparently a way of life. The problem I've always had with MLM is that they require an upfront cost for you spending your time and effort marketing their stuff. So they want you to pay them to market their stuff. Frankly to me it is like your boss asking you to pay them for working their position. Now you really need to ask yourself if that makes sense.

Yes there are a number of long standing companies of MLM like Avon, Tupperware and Kirby. It all comes down to how much make up, tupperware or vacuums can you sell. All of them have limits on what people will purchase or can purchase.

So what can you do to lessen the draw on your pocketbook. That is really simple just find something that you are passionate about and find an affiliate. Affiliates Clickbank and Share A Sale don't cost any money to join and both have a large variety of things to market.

To start with an affiliate simply sign up with them and find a program you are interested in. Once you have an affiliate address(URL) go to TopSearchDomains.com to find a good domain name to forward and mask so people don't steal your commission or sales. If you aren't familiar with forwarding and masking they will be more than happy to help.

So you understand forwarding and masking in simple terms it's like sending your house phone calls to your cell phone. People call the house and get sent to your cell(forwarding) however, they never know because the house phone number still shows up on their phone(masking).

Now at this point you have spent a grand total of about $10 to get in business. All you need to do is market and invest your time to find an audience. Once you get good at marketing products you are passionate about is when you can start looking into MLM but, for now the best bang for your buck is in affiliate marketing.

In order for you to start getting the word out you need to find places to advertise free like Craigslist.org and a new comer GoLiger.com. You will utilize all the free advertsing that you can as the internet is loaded with free stuff.

The most important thing to share is to find your audience and not spend your time trying to convince people of your services or why you are better. The fun part of internet marketing is getting the search engines to pick you up so you do not continue to be the needle in a hay stack.

For more free information on internet marketing take a look inside UltimateeBookStore.com there is a ton of stuff to read and learn about internet marketing.

How To Spend Less Money Running Your Computer

We often overlook the little things we it comes to saving money. Even the power management on your computer can have a descent affect on your electric bill over time. Here are a few tips for saving money with your computer:

1) Remember that if you use a laptop it is very likely to save alot more money in electric use than a desktop. After all it is designed to run on batteries use the same settings for battery use to minimize electricity usage.

2) Lots of us like to use the screen saver however, it is a waste set you monitor to turn off in the same time frame you would normally use for the screen saver. If you are not in front of the computer a screen saver is wasting energy. Even the CPU using power just to run the screen saver.

3) An old desktop computer with an old monitor is an energy magnet. The general rule of thumb is old computers use more electricity. That rule applies to most things except for cars which is politic related.

4) Don't leave your computer on all day. If you are going to leave your computer for more than 10 minutes just turn it off. Just think hybrid cars use this same tactic off at lights, off down hills, off when you let off the accelerator, etc... Simple fact is it adds up.

5) My favorite way to save is having all of the computer and accessories plugged into not one but two power strips. One is for the computer, monitor and DSL/cable modem. The other is for accessories like your printer, scanner, pencil sharpener, etc... The idea is only to keep on what you need and use. Most of us only use the computer, monitor and internet so the rest is wasting money. When I'm not using them the power strip is turned off.

These simple tips will ease you electric bill it does wonders for mine.

Quake, aftershocks rattle Calif. residents

Quake, aftershocks rattle Calif. residents
Tremor reminds some to update emergency plans
By Gillian Flaccus
Associated Press / May 19, 2009

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Glass shattered and ceiling tiles fell as a moderate tremor shook laid-back Southern California, rattling residents' nerves and reminding them they need to update earthquake emergency plans.

No significant damage or major injuries were reported but the Greater Los Angeles region vibrated for about 10 to 15 seconds Sunday night and the tremor was felt as far south as San Diego, said Susan Hough, a seismologist at the US Geological Survey.

"This was a serious jolt," Hough said.

The magnitude-4.7 earthquake was centered about 10 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles and 3 miles east of Los Angeles International Airport, according to the US Geological Survey.

"First thing I thought was 'Is this the big one?' It was pretty powerful," said Long Beach resident Tom Oswalt, 46. "My first thought was to get out of the building, get my dog and get out of the building."

At least 10 aftershocks had followed by yesterday, with the largest registering magnitude-3.1.
Sunday's shock was one of the most powerful earthquakes Carel McEachern had felt during her four decades in Long Beach.

"It didn't get me out of the house, but after it was over, we all wandered out in the street and asked around and we all agreed it was the strongest one in a long time," said McEachern, 58.
Charlene Ebright said she hadn't updated her earthquake emergency supplies in eight years but now she plans to do so.

"I've cut out a million articles about what to do and what you need but I've never gotten around to it," Ebright said. "It just reminds you, you've got to be ready."

Glass broke at a Starbucks in Torrance, and one person there was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Torrance Fire Department dispatchers said.

The shaking was most intense in the coastal communities south of the airport, including Long Beach.

Carolyn Gray was reading a book at her Long Beach home when her dog, Rocket, jumped into her lap. It was the 2 1/2-year-old pet's first earthquake.

"It was a good jolt. It wasn't really a roll," she said.

Mariella Freyre, 30, a waitress at Kafe Neo, a Greek restaurant in Long Beach, said she was surprised by the strength of the earthquake, which she felt while she talked to customers.

"There were tremors and glasses started shaking," she said at the restaurant yesterday. "I felt the movement on the floor. I've been in many tremors but I've never felt the floor move like that."

The quake originated 8.4 miles below the surface and appeared consistent with movement on the Newport-Inglewood fault, said Ken Hudnut, a geophysicist with the US Geological Survey.
That fault was responsible for the magnitude-6.4 Long Beach earthquake in 1933 that killed 120 and caused more than $50 million in damage.

The last damaging earthquake in Southern California was the 1994 magnitude-6.7 Northridge earthquake that toppled bridges and buildings.

Since Northridge, the region has been in a relative seismic lull, although activity has picked up in the past year.

Last summer, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake was centered in Chino Hills, east of Los Angeles, but did not cause major damage. This year, an earthquake swarm shook the desert near the southern end of the San Andreas Fault.

Our newest president promised "Change" yet as Ron Paul is mentioning nothing seems to be changing.

Protect the American People from Dental Mercury and the FDA!

Dear Legislator,

I am writing to you at the suggestion of the Natural Solutions Foundation to request that you compel the NIH to release an independent evaluation of a highly suspect and corrupt process through which mercury amalgams were given a predetermined clean bill of health despite a Congressional mandate for a meaningful evaluation of the health hazards posed by continued use of mercury in dental fillings.

This evaluation was never carried out in a forthright and independent fashion. Instead, the dental arm of the FDA provided a blueprint to the consultant chosen to receive this contract outlining the desired mercury-favoring results. A meeting coordinator was selected without background or experience in developing this kind of report and the coordinator inverted the terms of reference of the report from "finding evidence of harm", the Congressional mandate, to "proof that the product is unsafe".

Two FDA Scientific Advisory Committees rejected the report leading NIH Chairman Elias Zerhouni to hire an independent CPA firm to do an investigation and report on this process and report. To date, despite 2 freedom of information requests, the CPA's evaluation has not been released to the public.

This is representative of the corrupt, industry friendly, health hostile practices of the FDA and segments of the NIH. Since this sort of shenanigan provides immediate harm through poor decision making (e.g., retaining mercury in dental amalgams) and undermines the highly significant mandate of the FDA to safeguard American health, food and products, I strongly urge you to take the following steps:1. Compel NIH Chairman Zerhouni to release the CPA report and the underlying documents upon which it is based to the public immediately since the health of your constituency is very seriously impaired by the secrecy and failed report involved here.2. Compel the FDA to commission a new and truly independent study on the the dangers posed by dental mercury under Congressional oversight3. We ask Federal legislators old hearings on the feasibility, impact and mechanisms for splitting the FDA up into two separate agencies to regulate food and drugs without contamination of food regulation by drug interests and vice versa since clean, unadulterated food and supplements are a direct threat to the economic health of the pharmaceutical industry which provides a significant portion of the operating budget of the FDA through drug company "User fees"4. We ask State Legislators to hold hearings on the feasibility, impact and mechanisms for banning all medical uses of mercury in your State since the continued use of mercury poses a well-documented health hazard to the people of your State5. Introduce legislation to ban mercury from all medical uses and making its use or introduction into the human body a felony offense.

The Natural Solutions Foundation, http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/, would be happy to provide scientific and technical support to assist in all steps of this process.

Thank you for your commitment to my health and well-being. I will be following your steps on this issue closely.

Please Oppose All Restricitions on Nutritional Free Speech

Dear Legislator:

I am writing to my National and State Legislators to urge you to resist current pressures to adopt laws that restrict Free Speech about Nutrition. Such a law was adopted a few years ago in Ohio with bad results. This week, Legislators in New Jersey are being asked to adopt a law granting a monopoly on speech about Nutrition to Dietitians who are poorly trained in Nutrition (A2933 in the Assembly and S1941 in the Senate). Similar bills are pending in other states as well.

I urge you to oppose all such bills on the State and Federal levels. On the Federal level, such restrictions are often imposed through FDA regulations and I urge my Federal representatives to exercise their oversight obligation to make sure that travesties such as FDA's recent attempt to impose a new regulatory category, "CAM Product" continue to fail to be implemented.

At a minimum true Health Freedom requires the free flow of truthful and not misleading information about these matters of personal concern. That's why Justice Sandra Day O'Connor wrote in Thompson v. Western States Medical Center, decided on April 29, 2002 - 535 U.S. 357:

"If the First Amendment means anything, it means that regulating speech must be a last - not first - resort."

"We have previously rejected the notion that the Government has an interest in preventing the dissemination of truthful commercial information in order to prevent members of the public from making bad decisions with the information."
"Even if the Government did argue that it had an interest in preventing misleading advertisements, this interest could be satisfied by the far less restrictive alternative of requiring ... a warning that the [product] had not undergone FDA testing and that its risks were unknown."

Without such free and open access to commercial information, part of the Free Speech guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution for the united States of America, we are not adults making decisions about our own bodies and health.

Health Freedom is a very important issue to me and I will remember to cast my votes for Legislators who are leaders in the effort to achieve and maintain the fullest Freedom of Speech in Nutrition.

Protect our Children from Compuslory Vaccination

Dear Lawmaker

I am writing to you at the suggestion of the Natural Solutions Foundation, a not for profit, tax exempt organization focused on protecting health and health freedom, to urge your strongest support for legislation which protects both adults and children from the dangers, both physical and Constitutional, of forced vaccination. Those dangers are becoming more and more clear, despite the vigorous efforts of the Pharmaceutical industry to hide them. Vaccines dangers include permanent brain damage resulting in autism, cancer, neurological disorders of many sorts, auto immune disease, paralysis and death (sometimes misdiagnosed as "Shaken Baby Syndrome" or "Sudden Infant Death Syndrome", both of which are well characterized vaccine reactions. Forced vaccination, such as that being considered by New York State and at the Federal level through Acts such as BARDA, the mis-named "Patriot Act" and other legislation is intolerable in a free society.

Bills like the one New York State is currently considering, Assembly Bill 10942 which makes all vaccines recommended by the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ADIP) mandatory and permits the state to administer vaccines for sexually transmitted diseases such as HPV without parental knowledge or consent are a danger to our children and our liberties. Lawmakers in New York must act to defeat New York Assembly Bill 10942 , lawmakers in other states must resist the pressure brought to bear by pharmaceutically-financed pressure techniques, while Congress must pass legislation to end the continuing threat of state by state and/or federal mandatory vaccination.

This practice would provide huge profits for the manufacturers of vaccines in both the primary round of profit taking and in the billions of dollars spent on treating the victims of vaccination: the autistic, those with cancer, diabetes, neurological disorders, auto immune disease and a host of other preventable chronic diseases which can be traced to vaccination. But the rights and well-being of ourselves and our children would be the ultimate cost to this drug company windfall.

You are a legislator whom I have entrusted with my protection and safety. If I do not wish to have my child or myself exposed to vaccines, and wish to control the conditions impacting on his or her body, or mine, based on my own best judgment, that is surely my right as a Citizen of a Country protected by our Constitution and as a parent and as the owner of my own body. I urge you to pass actively protective legislation allowing exemptions based on philosophical objection, conviction or medical conditions at the legislative level at which you have been elected to serve me.

As a concerned citizen, I will be watching your actions on this vital matter closely!

Please Co-Sponsor the Science Free Speech Act - H.R. 7120

Dear Representative,

Utah Congressman Chris Cannon has recently introduced a bill, the Science Free Speech Act, H.R. 7120-- this bill would protect the public's right to know truthful information about health and nutrition.

Click here (http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dvknc7z_183gtpwt5nh) to read Congressman Cannon's Science Free Speech Act, HR 7120 and here (http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=F.00a10d0c-947d-43a0-ab30-ab9f7bc222ff) to read his very important and articulate "Dear Collegue" letter and attachments which document how irrational and destructive the FDA's lopsided war on supplements and truthful statements has become.

As one of your constituents, I urge you to immediately become a Co-Sponsor and strong supporter of this important bill. Health Freedom is a "litmus test' issue for me and your support of this bill is something I will take into account when voting for Congress.

I agree with the US Supreme Court in Thompson v Western States, 535 U.S. 357:

"If the First Amendment means anything, it means that regulating speech must be a last - not first - resort... We have previously rejected the notion that the Government has an interest in preventing the dissemination of truthful commercial information in order to prevent members of the public from making [even] bad decisions with the information..."

Become A Co-Sponsor or Introduce H.R. 6635, H.R. 6636, H.R. 6637

As one of your constituents I want to express my concerns regarding Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) in our food supply and other products, including clothing. I am writing to you at the suggestion of the Natural Solutions Foundation, http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/, to express my grave concerns about unlabeled and potentially dangerous Genetically Modified Organisms which have been approved and widely disseminated in the absence of science of sense.

Under what is called the "Precautionary Principle", many countries around the world have placed moratoriums on the sale of GMO products and some have banned these products. However, without any serious testing, the United States government has not only allowed GMO ingredients in our food supply, but the FDA has actually tried to forbid companies from truthfully advertising “GMO Free” products. As my Congressperson, I want you to take a lead in reversing this trend. The Precautionary Principle, in essence, hold agencies and countries to the standard that is something has not been shown to be safe, it cannot be used, grown, offered or sold.

Genetically Modified Organisms do not meet the Precautionary Principle because they are administratively, not scientifically, deemed to be equivalent to unmodified organisms while excellent science substantiates that they pose special high level dangers for consumers, farmers and the environment. Disturbingly, these dangers are not temporary since, once the novel DNA, the antibiotic resistant DNA and the promoter virus are introduced into the DNA of the consumer, or of other organisms in the environment, the consequences are totally unpredictable and have been shown to be highly dangerous. Once loosed, however, the novel DNA cannot be called back, like the genie in the bottle.

Congressman Dennis Kuchinch has introduced three important bills to comprehensively regulate GMO products since they are virtually unregulated now. These bills are:
• H.R. 6636, The Genetically Engineered Food Right To Know Act, which would require mandatory labeling of all foods that contain or are produced with GM material. No such labeling is permitted at this time in the US.

• H.R. 6635, The Genetically Engineered Safety Act, which would require that GE foods follow a food safety review process to prevent contamination of food supplies by pharmaceutical and industrial crops. This Act would also require that the FDA screen all GE foods to ensure they are safe for human consumption. No such safety review is permitted at this time in the US.

• H.R. 6637, The Genetically Engineered Technology Farmer Protection Act, places liability from the impacts of GM crops on the biotechnology companies that created the GMOs, and protects farmers from lawsuits by biotechnology companies. No such liability exists at this time for pharmaceutical plants and animals once approval is granted by the acting agencies for the organism and the same is true for non drug modifications as well.

These flaws in the regulatory structure are of great concern to me and I believe that they should be deep concerns of yours as well since more than 80% of all food consumed in the US today contains GMO food or ingredients. Lethal allergies, auto immune disease (including diabetes in children), birth defects and sterility rates are rising and can be, in large measure, laid squarely at the door of a dangerous food supply, including GMOs in most of what we eat.

I urge you to become a co-sponsor of these bills or to introduce sister legislation in the Senate in order to protect us from the currently unknown potential threats of GMO products. This is a very important matter to me and I am among the over 80% of the public that a recent NY Times / CBS poll indicated wants mandatory GMO labeling.

As a concerned citizen, I will be watching your active stance on these bills and look forward to sharing the news of your co-sponsorship and support for these measures with other constituents in your district.

Protect Us From Compulsory Pandemic

Dear Legislator,

I am writing to you on a matter of grave personal concern at the suggestion of the Natural Solutions Foundation, a not for profit humanitarian NGO devoted to health and health freedom. When the people of this district elected you, we anticipated that, true to your election words, you would protect our well-being and our rights. The proposed enforcement of mandatory treatment, including mandatory vaccines, for a Pandemic condition is both a violation of that commitment and a violation of my rights to control my own body and make my own health choices.

Both State and Federal legislation now provides for the mandatory vaccination, drugging or incarceration for those who refuse such treatment. The hype and hysteria of the media and the distortion of the science of infection and contagion by governmental and international bodies, coupled with the pharmaceutical industry's headlong rush to yet more profits from vaccines which are both untested and dangerous plus drugs which are known to be both ineffective and unsafe leads me to write to you to urge you to push back this potentially deadly tide of political pandemic response. It is a clear violation of the Constitutional provisions against both slavery and indentured servitude since a free, unindentured or enslaved person may make his/her own health choices while an indentured servant or slave's body is owned by a master who may make health decisions about the body of the slave which may be enforced on a compulsory basis.
In addition to the moral and cultural repugnance which mandatory treatment invokes, it violates the rights of citizens and introduces the possibility of harm to them which cannot, under the current legal structure, be recompensed. Vaccination is an uninsurable risk and vaccine manufacturers are immune from liability for dangerous or even deadly products while vaccines have never been proven to be either safe or effective. On the other hand, even the CDC admits that there are risks of significant proportion with vaccines.

Any pandemic vaccine would be untested upon its use as predicted by the CDC and WHO in the fall of 2009. The possibilities for disaster are enormous. Those of us who do not desire these treatments should be free to make such a choice with the endorsement and support of the State.
As a person who is neither an indentured servant nor a slave, but a member of your constituency, I urge you in the strongest terms to:

1. Commit to holding fact finding hearings in the immediate future to evaluate the true status of pandemic threat and pandemic treatment safety 2. Commit to putting your efforts toward reversing dangerous legislation and policies which can endanger the lives and health of the members of your constituency

3. Provide for sanction-free personal exemptions from proposed mandatory drug or vaccination treatment, instead offering people who do not wish to be so treated the opportunity and support necessary for self-quarantine if needed for public safety reasons. Such support would include food, water and communication support, provision of medications or supplies of their choice and other means which support their choice and safety.

Thank you for your support of liberty and of your sworn duty to protect both the US Constitution and the well-being of your constituents.

Protect Moms, Babies and Freedom: Oppose S. 324

Dear Senator:

I am writing to you at the suggestion of the Natural Solutions Foundation, a private not for profit tax exempt organization, to urge you in the strongest possible terms to use your influence to defeat the so-called "Mother's Act", S 324 now before the HELP Committee. Pregnant women, their fetuses, new mothers and their nursing infants do NOT need dangerous drugs, the long term health effects of which are not known for infants.

The psychological and psychiatric literature which was not sponsored by drug interests is quite clear: support, not drugs, resolve Post Partum Depression. Community health services, including groups for new mothers, alleviate these distressing problems. Psychiatric drugs do not, despite the drug-company phony "science".

The health hazards, and the assault on health freedom, embodied in the proposed legislation to screen and drug pregnant and new mothers with powerful psychoactive drugs represent a significant hazard to babies, mothers and health freedom advocates. Mental health decisions should be a private, not a state, matter. Psychiatric drugs carry significant risks for adults and more risks for babies which have never been fully characterized but those which are known are extremely serious. There is, in fact, virtually no risk of death to mothers and babies when those mothers experience the "Post Partum Blues". But the risk of suicide, infanticide and other lethal outcomes for mothers and others on psychiatric medication is all too real. Susan Smith's tragic case and others like it should make that abundantly clear.

The "Mother's Act" is, in reality, a marketing ploy for the Pharmaceutical industry to mine a new market. While postpartum depression, a condition whose causes are unknown, does, in fact, occur in women around the time they give birth, it is generally a self-limited and temporary condition. The proposed screening and "treatment" of pregnant women (and their fetuses) and new mothers/nursing infants with psychiatric medication is fraught with dangers to the woman and the babies. The so called "Screening" proposed in this bill will simply mean that normal variations in emotional state, a predictable part of pregnancy and the immediate period after birth, will be turned into pathology and a profit center for the drug industry.

The drugs in question, however, have, until now, been cautioned for use only "with extreme caution in women of child bearing age" because of their dangers to the developing child. Drugs of this class carry warning urging doctors to AVOID their use in women of child bearing age because of the dangers they pose to the fetus and nursing child. These dangers include birth deformities and congenital malformations, obstetrical complications, hypotonia ("floppy baby syndrome"), long term behavioral changes in the infant, withdrawal symptoms at birth (which can be deadly to the child) and death. In addition, these drugs, which carry warning risks of suicidal and homicidal thoughts or ideation. They can cause children to be born with organs outside of their bodies when they are exposed during gestation. This requires immediate surgery for any possibility of survival.

The House of Representatives has made a tragic error in passing HR 20. The US Senate still has the opportunity to protect mothers and children, both born and unborn. Please do not vote for or sponsor this horrifying intrusion of government into intimately private matters which poses serious threats to mothers and babies for life long damage.

I urge you in the strongest possible terms to do everything in your power to make sure that this dangerous drug marketing ploy does not capture the Federal Government's ability to create public health measures and enforce them. This is not a measure designed to promote health, but to promote drug profits at the expense of health.

Thank you for your strong support of the rights of mothers and babies to remain free of both the coercion and the toxic effects of these drugs at the hands of the Federal Government.

Support Parental Rights

Dear Legislator:

Psychiatric drugs are being used on millions of children in the United States with little justification and with serious (even lethal) consequences, often over the objections of their parents. I am writing you at the suggestion of the Natural Solutions Foundation, a private not for profit humanitarian NGO, to urge you in the strongest possible terms to support legislation which bars funds under your control from being used for mandatory mental health screenings. These screenings are unscientific marketing tools created by and supported by the drug companies to increase profits from the latest vulnerable population: children.

The Parental Consent Act, HR 2218 serves as a model for states and a requirement for the federal government: no parent shall be coerced into allowing the medication of their child if they are not willing to have the child so treated and no federal monies may be used for such screening or treatments. Parents who do not wish to have their children medicated must be protected from child abuse of neglect actions by schools and other agencies.

Every school shooting in the United States has involved either a medicated student or a student withdrawing from medication. The price of psychiatric medication goes beyond a dollar cost, diabetes, suicide and permanent neurological damage (tardive diskinesia, a life long disabling constant uncontrollable writhing and twitching disorder, affects 10-15% of all children on psychological drugs - there is no known treatment for this tragic disorder). It goes beyond the black market kids engage in known as "pharming" stimulants like Ritalin(c). It extends to permanent brain damage and the theft of normal development of generations of children whose brains will never be normal. Given that the "diagnoses" of psychiatric disorders are imprecise and fanciful, not based in science, and that the "treatments" are highly toxic compounds for which there are effective, more cost-effective replacements, it is incumbent upon you, as an elected official with a public trust, to protect our vulnerable children, who are our future, from the greed of the pharmaceutical industry.

Since drug companies are working at both the State and Federal levels to enact legislation which would mandate screening and compulsory drugging of children, I am writing to you to seek your protection both for the children of your constituency, and of Constitutional rights as well. Legislators are our best protection against coercion.

As a member of a legislative body I urge you to sponsor or co sponsor legislation such as HR 2218. If you call upon your constituency to support you, I have no doubt that your esteem in the eyes of constituents like me will rise sharply. If you do not, the watchful eyes of all of us in your district will discern that you have failed to protect us and we will respond accordingly.

Thank you for protecting our children.

The Patriot Act would never be used against US citizens, right?

Certainly not innocent people, right?

After all, holding an American citizen in jail indefinitely without charges, without evidence, based on a "set up" is impossible, right?

Sixteen-year-old Ashton Lundeby's bedroom in his mother's Granville County home is nothing, if not patriotic. Images of American flags are everywhere on the bed, on the floor, on the wall.

But according to the United States government, the tenth-grade home-schooler is being held on a criminal complaint that he made a bomb threat from his home on the night of Feb. 15.

Lead in Lipstick: More enduring than love?

By Lisa Frack
February 12, 2009

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, there's a lot of puckering up to be done. But if you're not into lead poisoning, we recommend that you go natural. That's right, ditch the lipstick, ladies.

Yeah, we've talked about this before. More than once, I'm sure. The 1979 ban on lead in certain products (house paint and gasoline come to mind) was very successful, dramatically reducing blood lead levels. Good news, right? Restricting lead = less lead poisoning. Simple, even.

So why is there still lead in lipstick, then? Easy: it makes lipstick stay on your lips longer, and the FDA has (once again) not stepped up to the plate. Here's how the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics sums it up:

More than a year after the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics reported that popular brands of lipstick contain lead, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has still not released the results of its own testing of lead in lipstick, despite pressure from senators and repeated calls from health groups.

In Oct. 2007, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics reported that 61% of lipsticks it tested contained lead. In Nov. 2007, Sens. John Kerry, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein urged FDA to test a range of lipsticks for lead, publicly report the results, and take immediate action to reduce consumers' exposure to lead from cosmetic products.

Fourteen months later, FDA has made no public statements, issued no reports, and taken no action to reduce consumers' exposure.

Why am I not surprised?

What you can do. As always, there's the personal and the political. To prevent your own exposure, you should use lead-free lipstick or no lipstick at all. Because lead is not a listed ingredient, it is impossible to identify lead-free brands without testing. Going without is safer.

To get political, you can ask the FDA to step up to the plate and ban lead in lipstick. You can also contact the folks who make your favorite lipstick and let them know that you like their product - but would prefer it without a dose of lead, please and thank you.

For more on the useful properties of lead, the 2007 New York Times article, "The Pernicious Allure of Lead" is fascinating - showing the poisonous metal's unbeatable usefulness over time.

Photo Surfaces of Wanda Sykes & Wife Alex

Congratulations went out earlier this week to comedienne Wanda Sykes and her partner Alex after US Magazine revealed the couple became parents to newborn twins on April 27th.
Alex gave birth to the couple's first children, daughter Olivia Lou and son Lucas Claude. Olivia weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz., and was 19 inches long. Lucas was born at 7 lbs., 9 oz., and was an inch taller than his sister.
The couple were married on October 25, 2008 in California shortly before California voters voted to approve the discriminatory Proposition 8 banning gay marriage.
Sykes publicly came out at a Las Vegas Prop 8 rally during the aftermath of the politically charged vote. Until now the identity of Sykes' wife Alex had been kept under wraps until the above photo surfaced online today.
Countless blogs and message boards have long speculated on the race of Sykes' "unidentified" partner with many in the black gay community silently or explicitly hoping that Alex would indeed be African-American. Judging from the above photo that doesn't seem to be the case.
Whether we want to admit it or not the image of yet another black celebrity involved in an interracial relationship proves to be quite disappointing for some, not to mention Sykes happens to be a high-profile black lesbian.
Having dated outside of my race in the past I'm of the mindset that you really can't control who you fall in love with. If they're happy, I'm happy for them. So why do you think it took so long for this photo to surface? And why is the topic of gay interracial dating still the elephant in the room?

HR 645: Congress Seeks to Authorize & Legalize FEMA Camps

Posted January 27th, 2009 by RJ

http://www.roguegovernmen...
A new bill has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives called the National Emergency Centers Act or HR 645. This bill, if passed into law, will direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish national emergency centers otherwise known as FEMA camp facilities on military installations. This is an incredibly disturbing piece of legislation considering that the powers that be have already set in motion an agenda to setup a nationwide marital law apparatus through U.S. Northern Command and the Department of Homeland Security.

Apparently, the fusion centers, militarized police, surveillance cameras and a domestic military command is not enough. Even though we know that detention facilities are already in place, they now want to legalize the construction of FEMA camps on military installations using the ever popular excuse that the facilities are for the purposes of a national emergency. With the phony debt based economy getting worse and worse by the day, the possibility of civil unrest is becoming a greater threat to the establishment. One need only look at Iceland, Greece and other nations for what might happen in the United States next.

With this in mind, it appears as if these so called national emergency centers will be used in a national emergency but only if the national emergency requires large groups of people to be rounded up and detained. If that isn’t the case, than why have these national emergency facilities built in military installations?

Let’s look through the various portions of the bill.

Did You Have Your Bowl of Cholesterol Drugs This Morning?

By Susie Madrak

I guess we have to start getting prescriptions for this stuff, huh?
WASHINGTON (AFP) – Popular US breakfast cereal Cheerios is a drug, at least if the claims made on the label by its manufacturer General Mills are anything to go by, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has said.
"Based on claims made on your product's label, we have determined that your Cheerios Toasted Whole Grain Oat Cereal is promoted for conditions that cause it to be a drug," the FDA said in a letter to General Mills which was posted on the federal agency's website Tuesday.
Cheerios labels claim that eating the cereal can help lower bad cholesterol, a risk factor for coronary heart disease, by four percent in six weeks.
Citing a clinical study, the product labels also claim that eating two servings a day of Cheerios helps to reduce bad cholesterol when eaten as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, the FDA letter says.
Those claims indicate that Cheerios -- said by General Mills to be the best-selling cereal in the United States -- is intended to be used to lower cholesterol and prevent, lessen or treat the disease hypercholesterolemia, and to treat and prevent coronary heart disease.
"Because of these intended uses, the product is a drug," the FDA concluded in its letter.
Not only that, but Cheerios is a new drug because it has not been "recognized as safe and effective for use in preventing or treating hypercholesterolemia or coronary heart disease," the FDA said.
That means General Mills may not legally market Cheerios unless it applies for approval as a new drug or changes the way it labels the small, doughnut-shaped cereal, the FDA said.
General Mills defended the claims on Cheerios packaging, saying in a statement that Cheerios' soluble fiber heart health claim has been FDA-approved for 12 years, and that its "lower your cholesterol four percent in six weeks" message has been featured on the box for more than two years.

More Ways To Save Money

By Dennis Rockstroh
Mercury News

Suggestions on how to economize as we travel through this economic storm are continuing to pour in.

But before getting to some of your suggestions, I have heard from readers who are puzzled on how you would save money by avoiding left turns as you drive around town.

It takes planning, but the next time you see the familiar brown UPS truck chugging through your neighborhood, notice this: few, if any, left turns, especially at clogged intersections where vehicles line up and idle waiting for the light to change for the left turn.

The numbers say it all. Nationally, UPS says the right-turn policy reduced driving miles by 29 million, annually saving more than 3 million gallons of gas.

Besides, left turns are more dangerous and you know how much accidents cost.
Now, your suggestions:

I have lived at my apartment complex for five years and every year I get a rent increase. With my anticipated increase coming up in a couple months and knowing that I just can't afford it, I started to look for a new place. Well, surprise, surprise. When I went online and saw my apartment complex advertising for $50 less per month than I was paying, I immediately contacted my apartment managers and received my $50 decrease effective now. That's a savings of $600 a year bottom line.

I ask family members to bring me their discarded printouts from work. As long as the paper is blank on one side (almost always) and not crumbled, I load my PC printer and print on the blank side.

My Dad, the dentist, would have said that a mixture of salt and baking soda works about as well as most toothpastes — just not very tasty.
Sue Allen

If you are going to eat out, go to lunch, not dinner. Lunch can sometimes cost up to 50 percent less — for the exact same meal.
Tina Casalino

Do all the normal things, water less, turn out lights, eat far less (dropped 15 pounds from the beginning of the year). Eat all leftovers. Hang clothes out to dry on a sunny day. Buy only used books. Plan your errands out so you spend less time driving around.
Susan

Forget soft drinks. Teach the kids to drink iced tea or homemade lemonade; it's healthier, too.

Saving Money by Grow Vegetables

Some area greenhouses say what used to just be a hobby is quickly turning into a way to save money during the current recession.
Several local greenhouses say vegetable sales are way up. They also say they are seeing seasoned gardening veterans and many first-time gardeners looking to save by planting their own vegetables.
"Many of them are doing it because they want to save on grocery bills. Some are doing it because others are doing it to save on grocery bills and discovering that that is a good way to get back to their roots," says Arlene Ried, owner of Glenhaven Greenhouses.
"There is nothing like a good fresh tomato out of a garden, good fresh green beans," says gardener Jane Garrett.
Employees at Glenhaven Greenhouses say they work hard everyday to keep the supply equal to the ever increasing demand for vegetable plants.

Dangers of Tattoo Ink

Twenty-somethings are lining up at tattoo parlors by the droves, but many without any knowledge of what their body ink can do to their health. Researchers released a report today saying that the metals in tattoo ink may be cancer causing.
As opposed to tattooing of the past, today techniques, tools and chemicals have changed significantly. The report says,
“…many of today’s tattoo inks contain metallic salts, oxides, sulphides and selenides, according to a study done by the Institute for Health and Consumer Protection on permanent tattoo inks in Europe. Many of the chemicals found were originally intended for use in writing, automobile paints and printer inks.”
Due to the previous lack of evidence to investigate the health risks of tattoos, the FDA does not regulate the chemicals and products used in tattoo ink. But now chemists and researchers in both America and Europe are hoping to prove the risks associated with tattoo ink and gain the FDAs support in placing more stringent regulations on tattooing.
The report goes on to outline a number of other negative factors caused by tattoo ink, “In addition, the FDA does not require the ingredients of the inks to be disclosed. Because they are considered “trade secrets,” tattoo inks may contain chemicals known to cause mutations, birth defects or cancer, though these symptoms may take years to appear.”
As more information regarding tattoo health floods out, the masses of people getting tattoos may steadily decline. For more information about tattoo removal treatments, go to tattoohealth.org.

What Are They Spraying?

This is part of the "one time in news stories" series. If you read through enough of the serious stuff within blogs it will paint a picture for you.

Denied Cement, Rebuilding With Mud

RAFAH, May 7 (IPS) – Jihad el-Shaar is pleased with his mud-brick house in the Moraj district of Gaza. The 80-square metre home is a basic one-storey, two-bedroom design, with a small kitchen, bathroom and sitting room, made mostly with mud and straw.

"My wife and our four daughters and I were living with family, but it was overcrowded, impossible. We knew we had to build a home of our own,” Shaar said. “We waited over two years for cement but because of the siege there is none available. What could we do, wait forever?”

So he decided to do it with mud.

Building earthen structures like bread ovens and small animal pens is a technique many Palestinians are familiar with, but extending the method to houses isn’t a notion that has taken hold in Gaza.
Jihad el-Shaar got the idea from his travels in Asia and the Middle East. “I travelled in Bangladesh, India, Yemen, Turkey…they all use some similar technique of building houses from earth. All you need is clay, sand and some straw.” These he mixed with water, and poured into brick moulds that were left in the sun to dry for three days. Good enough to build a fine house with.

While some Gaza residents speak of shame at the way life has ‘gone backwards’ with the siege – using cooking oil in cars, wood fires for cooking, and horse and donkey carts for transportation – Shaar is proud of his clay home.

“In the winter it is warm, and in the summer it will be cool. There’s no problem with leaking, and this type of house will last a lifetime,” he says. “And it was cheap to build. A house this size made of cement would cost around 16,000 dollars at least. This one, because it was made with simple, local materials cost just 3,000 dollars.”

Prior to Israel’s crippling siege on Gaza cement would have cost 20 shekels (about five dollars) a bag. Now, with cement among the many banned items, what does make it into Gaza through tunnels under the Egypt border costs ten times as much.

The 3,000 dollars Shaar spent was mostly on support metal and on the flakes of straw used in the mud bricks as a strengthening agent. The metal bits, formerly just over 1,000 shekels a tonne, are now quadrupled in price, which contribute to making an otherwise cheap building process still somewhat pricey.

Straw abounds, but due to the siege it is more often used as animal fodder, rendering it more precious and driving the price up. Clay and sand, found all over Gaza, must still be transported to the building site.

Compared to a cement home, the mud homes Shaar has designed and taught others to build are nonetheless the most practical and immediate solution.

Nidal Eid (35) has seven children and has been renting a home in the Rafah region since his house was bulldozed by the Israeli army four years ago. Larger than Shaar’s and still in its nascent form, Eid’s home will take another two weeks to complete, he estimates, and will cost roughly 4,000 dollars.

“It’s going to be fantastic,” Eid said, adding mud mortar and new bricks to the waist-high wall he has already completed. “We make about 1,000 bricks every three days.”

The work, he said, was shared between six people. “I couldn’t wait any longer for the siege to end. I have a family and we need a house, so I’m building this. Everything is difficult in Gaza, but we have to find ways to get by.”

A tour through Jihad el-Shaar’s home shows all sorts of creative touches to the simple structure. Inlaid shelves are custom-sized to hold gas lanterns, dishes, ornamental vases, books…an earth-brick bed eliminates the need for an additional bed frame. The 35cm thick walls keep the house surprisingly cool, and the wooden windows propped open by poles allow the breeze to pass through.

This sort of idea is catching on. Yousef Al-Mansi, minister for public works and housing says the ministry will build a school, a mosque, and a clinic out of recycled rubble from bombed buildings.
The Gaza crossings online database of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) records that only two trucks carrying construction material have been allowed into Gaza since Jan. 19 this year. Israel’s assault on Gaza ended Jan. 18.

While 4.5 billion dollars in aid money for reconstruction has been pledged by international donors, to date Israel has not permitted the entry of materials into Gaza.

During its three-week assault Israel destroyed some 5,000 homes and 20,000 buildings.

“Since I’ve made my house, I’ve got many calls from people, especially in Rafah, who want to rebuild their houses using this technique,” says Shaar. “There are entire families living in tents. Why not build a home like this? Because of the siege, we’ve found other ways of living.”

Talking Trash: the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

by Ransom Riggs - May 1, 2009 - 11:19 AM

It’s like something you’d expect to see in a now-classic post-apocalyptic novel by J.G. Ballard or Richard Matheson: The Synthetic Sea, a swirling vortex of plastic garbage the size of Texas; an island of plastic riding atop the cold North Pacific, leaching poisonous chemicals into the ecosystem and being swallowed by fish and birds who mistake the smaller bits for food. Except it’s real. Also known as the North Pacific Gyre (recalling Yeats; I like it), it contains something like 100 million tons of debris caught up by ocean currents in an endless loop between Hawaii and Japan. The reason fish and birds swallow the stuff and die is because small pieces of plastic already outnumber plankton in the gyre/vortex/patch by 6 to one, an imbalance which may increase tenfold in the coming years.

Captain Charles Moore of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation, who first discovered the Patch, has artfully dubbed it a kind of “plastic soup,” a concept which this graphic demonstrates rather well. Or, here’s another way of looking at it — this is Captain Moore holding a pint or so of randomly-scooped water from the Patch:

"Cash-For-Clunker' Plan ?

Q&A: How the 'cash-for-clunker' plan would work

By James R. Healey, USA TODAY

House Democrats and the Obama administration have agreed on a compromise for a so-called cash-for-clunkers bill.

Similar to European programs, the legislation — also called "fleet modernization" or "scrappage" — would provide federal vouchers of up to $4,500 for people to trade in their vehicles for new ones that get better mileage.

CHART: Summary of cash-for-clunkers agreement

The European programs are expected to result in 400,000 to 500,000 more new vehicle sales this year than otherwise would be the case. Backers say a U.S. version could add 1 million sales at a time Chrysler is in bankruptcy court and General Motors is fighting to stay out. Both are operating on government loans.

Talk of the vouchers has kept some would-be new car and truck buyers on the sidelines, waiting to see whether they'd qualify for government help. So, for the moment, the idea is hurting sales. Based on interviews with lobbyists and congressional offices, how it might work:

Q: What's the idea behind "cash-for-clunkers"?

A: Supporters say it would replace older vehicles with new ones that use less fuel, are safer and pollute less. And it would give the struggling auto industry a sales boost.

Q: What's the bill's status?

A: It's in a House committee and backed by the president. Senators from both parties are prepared to co-sponsor similar legislation as soon as this week.

Q: Sounds like a sure thing.

A: Not so. Environmental lobbyists, who don't think it boosts fuel economy enough, might derail it or get it changed enough in the Senate that a compromise would take awhile.

Q: Any groups trying to keep it from being derailed?

A: You bet. Car companies, autoworkers, component suppliers and car dealers, among them. The House bill "will help jump-start auto sales and the U.S. economy, while also providing environmental benefits and increasing energy security," says Ziad Ojakli, Ford Motor spokesman.

Q: What's the price tag?

A: About $4 billion, with $787 million from the already-passed economic stimulus package.

Q: If the House bill becomes law, how would it work?

A: The government would send up to $4,500 to the selling dealer on your behalf, if you:

1. Trade in a car that — this is a key point — has been registered and in use for at least a year, and has a federal combined city/highway fuel-economy rating of 18 or fewer miles per gallon.

2. Buy a new car, priced at $45,000 or less and rated at least 4 mpg better than the old one (gets a $3,500 voucher). If the new one gets at least 10 mpg better, you get the full $4,500.

Example: Trade that well-worn 1985 Chevrolet Impala V-8, rated 14 mpg, for a 2009 Impala V-8 rated 19 mpg and the government will kick in $3,500. Downsize to Chevy Cobalt (27 mpg) or even a larger Honda Accord (24 mpg) and get $4,500.

Mileage ratings back to 1985 are at www.fueleconomy.gov.

Q: What about trucks?

A: It's more complicated.

For standard-duty models — most SUVs, vans and pickups:

1. The old one must be rated 18 mpg or less.

2. The new one must be at least 2 mpg better for $3,500 or at least 5 mpg better for $4,500.

For heavy-duties (6,000 to 8,500 pounds gross vehicle weight rating):

1. The old one must be rated 15 mpg or less.

2. The new one must be rated at least 1 mpg better for $3,500, or 2 mpg or more for $4,500.

Work trucks (8,500 to 10,000 lbs.) don't have mpg ratings, so age is the criteria. The old one has to be a 2001 model or older. And only $3,500 is available.

Q: Is it worth it for $4,500?

A: The assumption is that the people most likely to use the program would trade in cars worth less than $4,500. Thus, while not necessarily clunkers, most would be at least 8 years old.

Q: Can I combine these incentives with other offers?

A: Yes. For instance, you could trade for a hybrid and get the voucher, claim the hybrid tax credit and get dealer or manufacturer discounts. You also could deduct the sales tax, if any, on your next federal tax return.

Q: Would I ever see the $3,500 or $4,500?

A: No. It's an electronic transfer from the government to the dealer. Dealers want to be sure the amount can be counted as cash from the buyer, which would help buyers get credit because they're financing less.

Q: What does the dealer do with my trade-in?

A: Gives it to a salvage operator. The engine, transmission and some other parts must be destroyed so they can't be reused. The idea is to cull fuel-thirsty, polluting drivetrains. Operators can resell other parts, however.

Q: What's to keep me from buying a junkyard car for a few hundred bucks, getting it barely running and trading it?

A: The one-year-in-service requirement noted earlier. Lawmakers wanted to exclude the revival of so-called junkyard dogs, because they've already been taken off the road.

Q: What do I get if I recently bought a car that would have qualified?

A: The bill contemplates making the incentives retroactive to March 30, but it's unclear how to find and junk cars that were traded in that long ago. Some might already be back on the road, driven by new owners.

Q: What's wrong with environmentalists' idea that the new car or truck should get much better fuel economy than the House bill currently requires?

A: Opponents say the environmentalists' fuel-economy improvement thresholds are so high that foreign brands benefit disproportionately, because their lineups tend now to have more small, fuel-efficient vehicles.

But the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy complained in a statement criticizing the House bill that the proposal as it stands now is way too lenient.

The council charged that the bill "aims primarily to clear Detroit's unsold inventory from the storage lots," rather than to seriously cut fuel use.

Q: How soon could this become law?

A: Depends on how much critics can sway the Senate, and to what piece of legislation this "fleet modernization" bill is attached.

If it becomes part of a larger bill that's likely to get lots of debate, it could take awhile. If it's attached to urgent, must-pass legislation, such as an appropriation bill, it could move quickly to the president's desk.

As proposed, it would be in effect for just one year.

Google Set To Change Ranking Algorithm

By Jason Lee Miller - Mon, 05/11/2009 - 02:26

Blackhat SEO spammers force Google’s hand
Google is set to make changes to its search ranking algorithm to combat the spate of links leading to malicious web pages appearing at the top of Google’s search results, according to an inside source.
Over the past few months, cybercriminals have been using blackhat SEO techniques to manipulate search rankings. When it first began, they were marginally successful at following Google Trends to find buzzy search queries and elevating a newly created targeted webpage.

But after a short period of time, these same gangs appear to have become disturbingly effective. Last week, when researching a news story, I found the top five results all led to fake scareware pages.
Obviously if Google fails to do something about this manipulation, users will lose trust and the good ole days of Google will be over fast. A Googler speaking on condition of anonymity told WebProNews a ranking change is pending that tackles spam of this kind. Once the change goes live, users shouldn’t see it “nearly as often.”

A report from security company PandaLabs identified over a million links targeting malicious webpages ranking for auto part searches. Google noted that many of the phrases mentioned in the report were rare. A phrase like [1989 Nissan Pickup Truck Engine Check Light Troubleshooting], for example, only appears on attack sites set up by spammers, which explains why Google brought back so many attack sites in response to it and similar queries.
Google's response seems also an admission of how difficult it is to provide fresh, timely search results while simultaneously combating spammers. Part of the appeal of Twitter to many people is the platform’s ability to provide real-time information; the live Web works remarkably well there so far because Twitter’s set up isn’t very conducive to spam (yet). At least Twitter has to some extent control over accounts.

Google, on the other hand, cannot control for content appearing on the Web at large, and historically its famous algorithm performed better than any other at weeding out spammy webpages and malicious results. Unfortunately, that was a version of the Web that was more static. The live Web presents entirely new challenges manifesting as the first major weakness the search engine has faced.

The company naturally didn’t have a comment on the recently pondered “link velocity” ranking factor. Search engine optimization experts have identified the speed at which organic links appear as a possible important influence.

Link velocity therefore aids in explaining how blackhatters were able to manipulate search results by dropping enormous amounts of link spam into comment and discussion areas of social sites. The freshness or buzzy nature of a query also aided in this pursuit, and cybercriminals merely have to follow Google Trends and Google News to know which keywords and phrases to target.

Chart of who "owns" the Federal Reserve

Chart 1

Federal Reserve Directors: A Study of Corporate and Banking Influence
Published 1976
Chart 1 reveals the linear connection between the Rothschilds and the Bank of England, and the London banking houses which ultimately control the Federal Reserve Banks through their stockholdings of bank stock and their subsidiary firms in New York. The two principal Rothschild representatives in New York, J. P. Morgan Co., and Kuhn,Loeb & Co. were the firms which set up the Jekyll Island Conference at which the Federal Reserve Act was drafted, who directed the subsequent successful campaign to have the plan enacted into law by Congress, and who purchased the controlling amounts of stock in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1914. These firms had their principal officers appointed to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Federal Advisory Council in 1914. In 1914 a few families (blood or business related) owning controlling stock in existing banks (such as in New York City) caused those banks to purchase controlling shares in the Federal Reserve regional banks. Examination of the charts and text in the House Banking Committee Staff Report of August, 1976 and the current stockholders list of the 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks show this same family control.

Federal Reserve Directors: A Study of Corporate and Banking Influence
- Published 1983
The J. Henry Schroder Banking Company chart encompasses the entire history of the twentieth century, embracing as it does the program (Belgium Relief Commission) which provisioned Germany from 1915-1918 and dissuaded Germany from seeking peace in 1916; financing Hitler in 1933 so as to make a Second World War possible; backing the Presidential campaign of Herbert Hoover ; and even at the present time, having two of its major executives of its subsidiary firm, Bechtel Corporation serving as Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State in the Reagan Administration.

The head of the Bank of England since 1973, Sir Gordon Richardson, Governor of the Bank of England (controlled by the House of Rothschild) was chairman of J. Henry Schroder Wagg and Company of London from 1963-72, and director of J. Henry Schroder,New York and Schroder Banking Corporation,New York,as well as Lloyd's Bank of London, and Rolls Royce. He maintains a residence on Sutton Place in New York City, and as head of "The London Connection," can be said to be the single most influential banker in the world.
